The Lacrosse Central Girls cross-country team traveled to
Wausau on Saturday and to Holmen on Tuesday.
At
the Smiley Invite in Wausau the varsity ran a strong team race
placing 3rd overall out of 25 teams. They were led by a very
tight top 3, Abby Knutson, Miranda Sanchez, and Morgan Sanger
only 3 seconds apart. Running very good times of 15:54, 15:56,
and 15:57 respectively. They were followed by Kayla Guepfer,
Megan Baumler, Violet Weibel, and Marissa Fellenz. We see were
we need to improve but these young ladies are making Central
proud in their work ethic and desire to compete.
Annie Waniger ran an outstanding race at Wausau in the JV race.
This young lady worked her way up from about 20th place at the
mile to just getting beat at the finish line by .01 seconds for
the JV champion. Great Race Sunshine. She was followed by a
very strong performance from the following ladies. Anneliis
Sartin-Tarn in 18:12, Devin Edge in 18:36, Ella Overholt in
18:44, and Kelly Fitapatrick in 18:47. Congratulations ladies
on and excelllent race.
On Tuesday the Red-Raiders raced in Holmen. Annie Waniger was
our first runner in placing 22nd in 17:20. A few outstanding
performances came from Anneliis Sartin-Tarn with her best time
of18:00, Ellie Dixon ran her personal best in 19:45 and Sabrina
Aspenson ran 20:07. In the JV race both Jenny Burns ran a gutty
20:25 and Jasmine Guetschow ran 22:28. The girls will be next
in action at their own Dick Mitchell Invite Friday, Oct.2nd at
Forest Hills.
